Reagan's questionable reasoning was that Black Africans would be hurt more by U.S. NOT doing business with South Africa's White Apartheid rulers. Fortunately US Congress vetoed his position and joined the world-wide boycott. Allegedly, Israel was the LAST prominent power to STOP doing business with White-apartheid South Africa. Some Africans ain't forgot... * It was established by a post-apartheid commission that during apartheid some 7000 people died due to the actions of the apartheid government. Spin it any way you want... but bottom line is... INNOCENT FOLKS ARE BEING SLAUGHTERED ON "BOTH" SIDES. JUST STOP. Blinken unnecessarily mentioning that he is "Jewish" at this time? Under these circumstances? What is he saying? Where's his first allegiance? Maybe he should consider recusing himself. His position and what he said is far more impactful than a judge saying same in a case where he is adjudicating a case between an Arab and a Jew. Worse, actually--if it was unnecessarily/reflexively introduced. Which it was. Blinken should NOT be doing this job. At this time.
